I'm Josefine Hasbo, a professional footballer and midfielder. I've lived the highs and lows of chasing this game: playing in Denmark and at Harvard, competing professionally in the United States, and representing the Danish National Team in the World Cup and the European Championship.
Along the way I've seen how much the right person, the right advice or the right opportunity can contribute to a player's path. She Assist is my way of passing some of that on.
I can’t promise every piece of advice will lead to a goal, but I’ll always try to give you something you can take with you, on & off the field.

I’m putting together small-group midfielder events in Boston and the surrounding area: a session where we can work on the position, talk about the game, and learn from each other. I’m collecting interest first, so I can see where there are enough players nearby to make one happen.

I’m Josefine, a professional footballer in the US, a Danish international, and a Harvard graduate with a degree in Economics and Psychology.
Football has been a big part of my life since I was a kid in Copenhagen. It took me through Denmark’s youth national teams, to Brøndby, to Harvard, to the World Cup, and now to playing professionally in the NWSL.
As I progressed in football and the game became more competitive, I started to appreciate something I hadn’t really thought about when I was younger: the things that make football meaningful don’t change.
The level changes. The pressure changes. The stakes change. But the core of the game remains the same: the challenge, the people you meet, the satisfaction of improving, and everything you learn about yourself along the way.
for me, football has become a teacher.
It won’t make me happy all the time. It will give me beautiful moments, but it will also bring uncertainty, frustration and disappointment. It teaches resilience, self-respect, and something about the person you are when things don’t go the way you hoped they would. Just like life off the pitch.
Over the years, I’ve also learned that having different interests and ambitions doesn’t mean you have to choose between them. I’ve balanced football with academics, media work and board roles because I think it’s important to have an identity that isn’t defined only by what happens on the pitch.
Today, I’m involved in Sport Creates Memories Academy, an organization I co-founded that is building a school and football facilities in Ghana to create educational and football opportunities for young people, while investing in the infrastructure of grassroots football.
I’ve never seen the different parts of my life as competing with one another. If anything, they’re connected by the same values that guide me: being open to new people and cultures, staying curious, and following the things that genuinely inspire me.
I believe that having things that excite you outside your passion gives you the opportunity to shift focus and explore different perspectives that can help you return with renewed energy.
Sport Creates Memories also brings me back to where it all started: the simplicity of the game, the connection with teammates, and the community it creates.
I know what it’s like to be a young girl trying to figure out how far you can take this. I also know how much it can mean when someone believes in you, gives you a different perspective, or helps you see what the game is really teaching you, not just about football, but about yourself.
That’s why I created She Assist.
my goal is simple: i want more girls to stay in the game.
Not because I think everyone needs to become a professional. But because I believe football can teach you so much about yourself. I want to be someone in your corner, helping you see the game from a new perspective, work through the tricky moments, and keep the fun in football.
Whether football takes you to the professional game, to college, or simply becomes a lifelong part of who you are, I want to help you find your own path and stay on it.
If I can give you an assist along the way, that’s what I’m here for.
She Assist works with players aged 12 to 17, so most of what I ask for is filled in by a parent or guardian. Here is what I collect, why I ask for it, and what happens to it afterwards. If anything here isn’t clear, email me and ask.
I try to ask for as little as I can. If you think a question isn’t necessary, tell me — I’d rather hear it.
A few services help me run She Assist, and information passes through them:
Each of those has its own privacy terms. Beyond them, I don’t pass on what you send me. I don’t sell your information, and I don’t add anyone to a marketing list.
I keep information only for as long as it’s reasonably needed for the purpose it was given to me: to reply to you, to provide the thing you asked for, to keep an ongoing relationship going where that’s what we’ve agreed, or to meet ordinary legal and accounting obligations. Once it’s no longer needed for those reasons, I delete it.
Film clips are a particular case. They exist so I can do the review, and they come down once the review is done and you’ve had the feedback.
Email me at josefine@she-assist.com, tell me what you’d like changed or removed, and I’ll take care of it. You don’t need to give a reason, and it won’t change how I treat your daughter if we’re already working together.
You can also ask me what I’m holding at any point, and I’ll tell you.
I read every mentorship application myself. Applying doesn’t guarantee a place, and I only ask for payment after I’ve accepted an application and sent you the link.
